    Two Day Spey Class

This was a great class taught by experienced and knowledgeable steelhead speyfishing guides. It is going to give you the basics to build on and includes not only Spey casting lessons but theory and history which is also very helpful. Mark’s lecture includes areas where steelhead are most likely to hang out, what stretches of river you are most likely to catch one, and proper methods for success. Instructors were always able to answer any questions. Experienced or not you will leave this class knowing more than you did when you showed up. Well worth the time and money. Thanks for a great class.

Interesting timing... I’m just unloading my rig and starting to dry out from Day 1 of this class. Mark and Hawkeye are excellent, patient, gifted instructors. It’s been a while since I had some serious river time and they both helped me work through tuning up my casting on several levels.....feeling very ready and quite pumped to go find some volunteer fish to jump on my line in the boat portion of class tomorrow.. stay tuned!

I am a novice spey fisher and this class was instrumental in providing me confidence in the proper way to hone skills. Mark and Hawkeye are extremely knowledgeable sharing their vast experience; Hawkeye is extremely patient in spending dedicated time with each student in the water. I look forward to enrolling in another class and highly recommend this school for anyone interested in the pleasures of spey fishing.

I have now had the pleasure of participating in two of the Steelhead Spey Schools through the Fly Shop and can attest that the instructors are truly skilled and experienced in teaching. Hawkeye and Mark conveyed the information through a variety of formats and were careful to make sure they connected with all styles of learning (visual, auditory, etc.). Both in the casting class and while out floating the river, the instructors took their time to work with each student to hone their skills and help troubleshoot issues. The patience and persistence of the instructors has raised my confidence and improved my casting technique greatly. The float trips were great fun as the guide is there to tell all about the scenery and answer questions all day. I look forward to taking another spey class in the future.

I entered this school with very limited spey casting ability. After the first day my casting had improved by ten fold. Mark and Hawkeye are great instructors with tons of knowledge and patience. Save yourself years of trial, error and frustration by taking this class. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to become a better steelhead fisherman.
