Simms Flyweight Wading Shoes, Felt Soles

Adventure to the less-traveled high country with the weight-shedding, pathbreaking Simms Flyweight® Wading Boots - Felt. Weighing in at a spry 40 oz. (1134 g) in size 11, the boot's low-profile design and breathable, abrasion-resistant mesh uppers turn long miles and technical terrain into a cakewalk. And when you step into that brilliant, untrammeled water, Flyweight Wading Boots maintain full wading-boot stability and functionality, with reinforced felt soles for stud and cleat retention.

FABRIC TECH: Vibram® Idrogrip rubber outsole
    WEIGHT: 40 oz. (1134 g) in size 11

These are the easiest wading shoes to put on and take off because there is no friction causing metal hooks or eyelets to overcome. Just pull on the shoe strings and they slide through the nylon loops with ease and will tighten the lacing clear to the toes. Wading shoes only wade well when all slack between the shoe and each foot has been eliminated. For big western steelhead rivers the best wading shoes are the ones that fit between the larger rocks. Bulky wading shoes are a disadvantage in hard terrain.  Lighter shoes give anglers more agility.

Simms Flyweights are by far the most comfortable and agile wading shoes I have ever worn. Simms G-3's with cleated Vibram soles are my previous wading shoes, and they have been exceedingly rugged and  are still in great shape. But at 62 ounces they are a third heavier than my new 40 ounce Flyweights. And I'm done with Vibram soles for wading tactical rivers like the Deschutes and Snake. Every cast starts from the bottom of your feet and Vibram, even with studs and star cleats is just too distracting...for me. MB
