Polywing Spinner, Trico
"The Polywing Spinner, Trico" is a spent wing dry fly imitating the final stage of a Trico mayfly, which is common to certain slower, weedy spring creeks. These insects are tiny, but hatch in such dense numbers, as to blanket the water, and become easy protein even for larger trout. Tricorythodes are multi-brooded, so hatches can go on for months. Tiny, tiny flies, extra fine tippets, wary, well educated, large trout, makes for a heady concoction of extreme challenges in a complicated high stakes game.
