The Fly Fishing Shop's Nymph, Dry Fly and Trout Spey schools were perfect for me. The courses teach wade fishing tactics and skills that I rarely do on my home waters in Arkansas.

Mark Bachman worked with me catering each course to my strengths and weaknesses. He's an expert angler and instructor. He helped me fine tune single and two-handed casts. The technical instruction on presentations was well explained, demonstrated, practiced and put to use.

Leader construction was learned. Entomology of the river was taught. We took kick screen samples from different river locations.

The equipment available is the best with perfect setups.

Mark is an accomplished oarsman with too many days on the Deschutes River to count. Floating the Deschutes in a drift boat with the canyon's beauty and magnificence is breathtaking. It doesn't get any better that those three days of trout school.
