Use Airflo Ridge 20-pound test Freshwater Running Line for smaller rods in the 3-weight to 6-weight range. The 30-pound test running lines are best for rods in the 7-weight to 9-weight range, or or for rods to 12-weight, where class tippets of 10 kg or less (22-pound test) are used. The 50-pound test running line is best when combined with 12-15 weight tackle and tippet strength of over 22-pound test. The Airflo Extreme running Lines are the best running lines for saltwater use that we have found, as they just stay slicker longer and rarely tangle if a Spey Swivel is installed between the running line and the shooting head.
Running lines have fast become a staple in fly anglers gear bags. The advantages of using interchangeable heads with different running lines are irrefutable--and whether you're using one or two hand rods, choosing the right running line is just as important as selecting the head. Airflo offers a wide array of running line options so you can use your heads wherever you may go.
The perfect compliment to any shooting head, Ridge technology comes to the fore on Airflo's running lines. Reduced surface friction not only increases distance, but also helps reduce tangles - loose coils of line slide over each other easily to eliminate snarl ups. A low stretch Power Core and an over-sized "Flexi Loop" complete what is Airflo's #1 selling running line series.
